A little about me…
Having grown up in India, I was fortunate to be surrounded by a rich tapestry of vibrant colors, diverse cultures, and the enchanting world of Bollywood. My father's expertise in electrical engineering and my mother's artistic talent exposed me to the best of both worlds, sparking my passion for interior design. Pursuing a degree in this field, I discovered my true calling in transforming spaces and bringing them to life.
My life took a pivotal turn when I was captivated by the film The Grand Budapest Hotel, igniting my interest in Production Design. This led me to become an Assistant Art Director in Bollywood, where I could merge my formal education with my love for creating magical worlds for audiences. Driven by a desire to further immerse myself in the world of entertainment, I pursued a Master of Fine Arts in Scene Design at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts, from which I recently graduated. My time at grad school has been transformative, opening my eyes to the enchanting world of theatre. Additionaly, last year I had the incredible opportunity to complete a seven-month scenic design internship with Derek McLane in the heart of New York City. This experience gave me a glimpse of the endless enticing possibilities that Theater and Broadway has to offer!
Currently based in the beautiful Washington D.C, I am honored to serve as the Scene Design Fellow at the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. Each day, my passion for the art of storytelling grows, and I eagerly anticipate sharing my unique background and culture with the world. I am excited to embark on my professional journey and see where this passion takes me!
